Summer Festivals of 2017

For Me the summer isn't complete without a festival or two. Here's what we got up to in 2017 and all the amazing vegan places we found to eat.

The first festival of the year and one of my favorites is Glastonbury which was at the end of June.

Unlike 2016 with all the mud, Glasto' 2017 was a heatwave. It was so nice to be able to get around without getting stuck and worn out.
There is so much to see and do at Glastonbury from bands, poets, acrobats and there is even a kids field filled with lots for them to do. There are also a lot of food stalls around with some offering vegan options, but there are some completely vegan caterers which made life so much easier. These include:
Veggies of Nottingham
Vegan Pyramid
Club Mexicana
Happi Maki
The Fritter Shack (vegan options)
Labonne Crepe (vegan options)
No Bones Jones (vegan Options)
Pan De Mania Wood Fired Pizza (vegan options)
Gandhi's Flip-Flop (vegan Options)
Goodness Gracious (vegan options)
Buddhafield Cafe

There are probably many more but these are the ones I can remember, also we didn't have time to visit them all  but its good to see that there are so many places to grab a Vegan bite to eat.

Next on the list was Latitude festival.

Latitude is a pretty chilled out festival, again with lots to see and do.
There's the Comedy Tent, Spoken Word Tent, Magical Forest, Dance music in the Woods, to name a few. There really is something for everyone.
There wasn't a huge selection of vegan options at this festival, but we were pleasantly surprised when we came across The Vegan Food Pod (our hero's for the weekend). They did everything from yummy cake to amazing Curries. Sorry was too busy eating to take many pics.

There was also The Happy Maki but we didn't get a chance to eat here as the queue's were always really long.

Next up and important to help us keep cool were Lickalix who did the most amazing ice lollies, they even had some adult only ices, so everyone was catered for.

We also paid a visit to the Oatly stand, who were giving out free t-shirts and temp tattoo's for the Post Milk Generation. You could also buy some Oatly based drinks. They always seemed really busy whenever we passed by.

The final festival of 2017 was The Green Gathering in Chepstow.
The weather for this one wasn't brilliant, with gale force winds when we turned up, which was fun trying to set up our tent, it also decided that it was going to rain on and off all weekend but that's just one of those things.
Like other festivals there was lots to see and do here.

We saw the Antipoet twice while at the Green Gathering and love them as they are very different. We even saw them at Glastonbury without realising......They are well worth checking out.

There was plenty of arts and crafts around for people to enjoy. Its amazing what you can find when you go for a wander. We even came across a Unicorn....

We even got to see an amazing moon while we were here too.

So these are my top three festivals that we were at in 2017. We did attend other Vegan Festivals throughout the year all over the UK which were all amazing .
We look forward to all the Festivals in 2018.

Thankyou for viewing my blog i hope you enjoyed VB80

Blackpool over new year

Having only ever passed through Blackpool once im my life we decided to spend our New Year there. We traveled up from London to Blackpool by Coach. We chose National Express for this journey as we knew it was a very long drive and we know that their coaches are very comfortable for long distances. So we caught the 8am coach which got us to Blackpool at 2:30pm. The journey itself was uneventful and there was minimal traffic on the roads so we weren't held up and arrived when stated :) When we arrived the sun was shining but there was a chill breeze, was to be expected as we were at the seaside in December. We decided to hunt down somewhere to get some food and we managed to find a Holland and Barrett, it was well hidden though on a side street. We also located a massive Sainsburys and a Co-Op so we did managed to get some bits and pieces to eat while in Blackpool. Just outside the Co-Op there was an amazing street music and light show going on (they even played my Fia...

Valentines Break in Brighton

We love Brighton and have visited a few times now. We decided to spend a couple of days here for a Valentines break. We decided to stay at Hostelpoint which is about a minute from the coach station. its a nice hostel beds are comfy and its warm and dry. The view from our dorm was amazing with beautiful sea views. After arriving in Brighton we decided to go for some food and headed for The Hope and Ruin which houses the vegan caterers Beelzebab. We opted for Seitan Meat and Chips with Chilli sauce. OMG it tasted amazing and i would defo recommend trying this meal out for yourselves. The Hope and Ruin was a unique pub with lots of unusual items around the place, like a piano coming down their stairs. Valentines morning we woke up and the sun was shining. we opened our cards and presents at the hostel. Its such a lovely feeling giving and  receiving gifts from the person you plan on spending the rest of you life with. We then took a short walk to an arcade ...
