The Vegan Hippo

What an amazing place to visit. Not only is the food amazing but they are completely Vegan.

On our recent visit we tried their new Sticks of Joy which was Jackfruit with mushrooms, pepper, aubergine, and onion with a side helping of relish.

It was so yummy and had a small hint of spice, i could have eaten alot more of these. Nomnomnom.

We then had spicy courgette burger. It was very nice with plenty of spice, wasn't really my thing as I'm not a courgette lover but it was still good.

The Jackfruit burger was yummy and really filling but really messy as it didn't want to stay in the burger bun at all.....i would highly recommend giving this a go though, just make sure you have plenty of napkins.

The bean burger with onion and garlic sauce was amazingly yummy and would defo recommend it to anyone. It tasted as good as it looks.

For pudding we opted for a vanilla slice. I haven't had one of these since turning vegan. I have to say that it was one of the best i have ever eaten.

I would highly recommend The Vegan Hippo to anyone visiting London, just make sure you leave some for our next visit lol

Thankyou for reading VB80

Trip to Cardiff

We decided to take a short trip to Cardiff for a couple of reasons, one to check out what's on offer there for vegans and also to see a concert at St Davids Hall. We arrived to really nice weather, which was nice to see. Locating our hostel was really easy as it was centrally located on the high street in Cardiff City Centre.  Was a lovely hostel and very welcoming and very homely. We decided to take a walk to Anna-Loka which is a 30 minute walk from the city centre. Anna-Loka is 100% vegan cafĂ©, their menu was full of so much yummy choice but we opted for all day breakfast to start with and a side order of chips. This was followed by a apple and beetroot cake and a mango and coconut cake.  My fiance had a black forest hot chocolate too. We left feeling really full. On our second day in Cardiff we decided to get the local bus to Penarth (the local buses do an all day ticket for £3.50 to travel all over the Cardiff area, which is reall...

Purezza Brighton

Firstly i would like to thank Purezza for inviting Myself, VeganBlogger78 and VeganBabeLife   to come along to review their amazing food. The menu looked amazing and it was difficult to decide what to have. I did like the fact that the menu clearly stated which dishes were nut free (which is very helpful having a nut allergy) For starters we chose: VBL. Focaccia strips and cheese Served with a selection of dips including hummus, pesto and caramelised beet/onion. VB78. Cheese bites, Six delightful dough balls, loaded with lashings of melty coconut cheese. Me. Garlic bread with cheese. Classic garlic bread, loaded with garlic puree with rosemary & optional cheese.  Cheesy Garlic bread need i say moor. nomnomnom For our main meal we chose: VBL. Indigo Island:  Roasted purple sweet potato, freshly cut pineapple & pea pancetta. VB78. One Night in Bangkok: White base, with stir fri...

Blackpool over new year

Having only ever passed through Blackpool once im my life we decided to spend our New Year there. We traveled up from London to Blackpool by Coach. We chose National Express for this journey as we knew it was a very long drive and we know that their coaches are very comfortable for long distances. So we caught the 8am coach which got us to Blackpool at 2:30pm. The journey itself was uneventful and there was minimal traffic on the roads so we weren't held up and arrived when stated :) When we arrived the sun was shining but there was a chill breeze, was to be expected as we were at the seaside in December. We decided to hunt down somewhere to get some food and we managed to find a Holland and Barrett, it was well hidden though on a side street. We also located a massive Sainsburys and a Co-Op so we did managed to get some bits and pieces to eat while in Blackpool. Just outside the Co-Op there was an amazing street music and light show going on (they even played my Fia...
